Good Morning Everyone,

Attached is a one-page briefing on the potential for a few severe
thunderstorms later this afternoon and this evening. This is not expected
to be a widespread event, and should only impact a few communities, mainly
in western Massachusetts and western Connecticut.

As noted in the briefing, there is uncertainty as to how warm it will get
today across interior southern New England. The chances for severe
thunderstorms will be higher if temperatures can reach the low to mid 80s.
We do not expect severe weather closer to the coast where temperatures will
be much cooler today.

This will be the only briefing on this event, but we may send a quick
e-mail update by early this afternoon if there are any changes to our
current expectations.

Thanks,
Joe DelliCarpini and Frank Nocera
