Good afternoon,
We would like to draw your attention to the potential for localized urban
and small stream flooding on Monday, particularly in light of the recent
heavy rainfall over the past two weeks. While we are not currently
anticipating widespread flooding, it is important to acknowledge the
possibility of localized flooding, particularly in eastern Massachusetts
and Rhode Island.
As of now, there are no Flood Watches in effect, but we will continue to
monitor the situation closely. If our confidence in this forecast
increases, it may become necessary to issue a watch.
Our forecasts indicate rainfall amounts ranging between 1" and 2", with the
potential for locally higher amounts of 3" +. Rainfall rates could exceed
1" per hour. Notably, the heaviest rainfall is expected to coincide with
the Monday evening commute.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Meteorologists: Matt Doody, Hayden Frank, and Torry Dooley
