[Weather] [09.29.2023 AM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Heavy Rain/Flood Potential Today-Sat

BOX Operations - NOAA Service Account box.operations at noaa.gov
Fri Sep 29 08:16:00 UTC 2023

Good morning everyone,

We've attached our latest rainfall forecast today through Saturday.
Forecast rainfall amounts have increased since our last update, but the
greatest potential for heavy rain and flooding is still across the New York
City area into western Connecticut.

The risk is still greatest just outside of the NWS Boston forecast area,
where Flood Watches are currently in effect (see attached graphic). It is
not out of the question that Flood Watches may be needed in future updates
across the Hartford and Springfield areas if the potential for heavy rain
and flooding increases.

Thanks,
Bill Leatham and Matthew Belk
