[Weather] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Light Icing Expected Saturday

Good afternoon everyone,

The forecast remains on track for light icing across much of southern New
England Saturday morning with the onset between 4 AM and 8 AM from west to
east.

The one change was to expand the Winter Weather Advisory to include metro
Boston and northwest Rhode Island. In these areas, an hour or two of light
freezing rain at the start could bring a brief period of light icing
Saturday morning. For the entire Advisory area, we are still expecting
light ice accumulations, no more than one tenth of an inch, with impacts
solely on travel conditions and walkways. Outside of the Advisory area,
plain rain is expected.

Please see the attached one-page briefing and related images for more
information. Note that the chances of icing remain highest in the
Connecticut and Merrimack Valleys, but also can't be ruled out closer to
Boston and in northern Rhode Island.

The next briefing will be sent by 6 AM Saturday.
