Good afternoon everyone,

We just wanted to give you an early heads up that next week we'll be
switching from the cooler than average temps of late to a prolonged period
of above average temperatures and higher humidity. It is too soon to say if
this will necessitate heat headlines from us, but confidence is high in a
prolonged hot stretch.

Additionally, Southern New England is expected to experience a significant
drying trend over the next 7 to 10 days. It has been about a week since our
last notable rainfall event on July 31st, and current forecasts indicate an
extended period of above-normal temperatures continuing through much of
next week.

Most of southern New England is expected to see daily high temperatures in
the upper 80s to low 90s, with minimal chances for meaningful rainfall.
This weather may lead to rapid onset drought conditions with potential
impacts to agriculture, water resources, and potentially an increased risk
of wildland fire activity.

Attached are tables showing the forecast probabilities of daily high
temperatures exceeding 90°F and daily precipitation exceeding 0.10 inches
for the period from August 8th through August 17th.* Please note that this
forecast assumes southern New England will not be impacted by any tropical
systems over the next 10 days.* Visit The National Hurricane Center Webpage
<https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&basin=atlc&fdays=7> for up to
date tropical weather outlooks. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us
with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Bryce Williams and Francis Tarasiewcz
