All,
Just wanted to provide a quick update to our email yesterday about the
expected weather next week. Overall there are no big changes to our
forecast. There is high confidence for temperatures to be above normal,
with many locations for much of next week seeing highs reaching into the
lower 90s. Combined with minimal chances for significant rainfall, this
could result in rapid onset drought conditions with potential impacts to
agriculture, water resources, and potentially an increased risk of
brushfire activity.
Humidity levels will be slow to increase, so at this point in time it does
not appear we will see "Heat Index"/"Feels Like Temperatures" much above
the actual high temperatures. Thus we are not expecting another round of
the extreme heat as we've experienced several times this summer.
Lastly, a reminder that we are entering the time of the year that tropical
activity increases in the Atlantic. Although there are areas being watched,
at this point there is no indication of anything that will impact the
region in the next week. Please refer to hurricanes.gov for the latest
tropical weather information that is updated multiple times a day.
Attached are several graphics showing aspects of the forecast for the next
week.
