[Weather] [2025.12.18 AM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Strong to Damaging Winds Friday

Good morning,

Please find attached an updated one page briefing and supporting graphics
regarding the potential for strong to damaging winds on Friday.

*Changes since last briefing:*

   - High Wind Watch for Cape/Islands upgraded to a High Wind Warning

*Other key points:*

   - Strongest wind gusts to 55 to 65 mph are anticipated on the Cape and
   Islands from late morning into the early afternoon. Otherwise, wind gusts
   to 40 to 50 mph are expected Friday morning across the rest of southern New
   England.
   - There is a lower risk for stronger gusts to 60 mph developing across
   RI and SE MA. If confidence increases, we may need to upgrade to high wind
   warnings here.
   - Strong post-frontal west wind gusts to 40-50 mph expected Friday
   night, with greatest risk over the Berkshires, Worcester Hills and the
   Islands.

We will provide another update by 4 PM this afternoon.
