Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for Litchfield County, CT, the Greater Capital Region, the eastern Mohawk Valley, mid-Hudson Valley, Taconics, Schoharie Valley, Helderbergs, and Washington County in eastern NY. A bitterly cold air mass will move into the region Wednesday afternoon and persist through Friday. The combination of the cold temperatures and winds will produce dangerous wind chills, especially Wednesday night through Thursday. This will likely cause some isolated problems with frozen pipes and broken water mains. In addition, heavy lake effect snowfall is expected for the western Adirondacks Wednesday night into Friday, and additional Winter Headlines will be needed.
