Until then, some locally slick travel and hazardous walking conditions can be expected due to a thin glaze of ice. Additionally, strong to damaging winds are expected this evening into Monday evening across much of the region. A High Wind Warning is in effect for all of eastern New York & western New England from 7 this evening until 7 PM Monday. Wind gusts up to 65 mph will result in downed trees & scattered to widespread power outages. Also, lake effect snow and blowing snow will impact the western Adirondacks tonight into Monday. 3 to 5 inches of new snow is expected for this area and the reduced visibility & snow covered roadways will make for hazardous travel.
