[2019.02.08 AM NWS Briefing] Strong to damaging winds tonight into Saturday
Good morning, Please see the attached slides summarizing the latest headlines and threats for Southern New England. *What / Where / When ... * - WIND ADVISORIES have been posted for all of Southern New England. - Tonight through Saturday afternoon. - Sustained westerly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts as high as 50 mph. - Strongest wind gusts anticipated across the Berkshires, Worcester Hills, and along the eastern MA shoreline including adjacent waters. - Height of the strongest winds / wind gusts will be around Saturday morning. - Plan for scattered tree, tree limb, and / or power line damage. Subsequently there will be the potential for power outages. - GALE WARNINGS have been posted for all waters. - Gusts up to 50 kts with seas approaching 12 feet. - There is the addition threat of minor freezing spray developing short after midnight Saturday continuing as late as Sunday morning.
