Good afternoon, Here is an updated briefing on the strong west winds and gusts late tonight into Tuesday night. *Bottom line up front:* Period of strong to locally damaging wind gusts expected late tonight through Tuesday night, with peak gusts most likely during the day Tuesday. What has changed: - High Wind Warning issued for east slope Berkshires and Worcester Hills - Wind Advisory issued for remainder of southern New England Timing: - Strong gusts develop late tonight from west to east, continuing through Tuesday night. - Peak gusts most likely during the day Tuesday [~9 AM-3 PM]. Wind Gusts: - Sustained winds 20-30 mph with gusts 45-60 mph. Highest gusts over the higher terrain of interior Massachusetts. Confidence: - High confidence of gusts up to *at least *45 mph. - Moderate confidence for gusts up to 60 mph for higher terrain.
