Good afternoon,
Here is an update on the potential strong to severe thunderstorms Monday
afternoon and evening.
*WHAT/WHEN:*
- A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible *Monday between 2 pm
and 9 pm*.
*WHERE:*
- The threat is mainly to the northwest of the Boston to Providence
corridor. The *highest risk* appears to be across *Western/Central MA and
Northern CT*. This area remains unchanged from this morning's e-mail.
*POTENTIAL IMPACTS:*
*- *Localized damaging wind gusts and large hail.
- Low risk of a tornado.
- Torrential rainfall may result in localized street flooding.
*UNCERTAINTY:*
*- *The areal coverage and intensity of thunderstorms remains uncertain in
southern New England. It is possible that clouds and early morning showers
prevent any severe weather in our region.
- While the severe weather threat appears isolated at this point, there is
a low risk that a few localized areas experience a significant impact.
