The main threat with any storms will be damaging wind gusts. A marginal risk is also in place further north across parts of eastern New York (mainly parts of Ulster, Dutchess and Columbia Counties), western Massachusetts and southern Vermont. Thunderstorms will also be capable of producing very heavy rainfall, which may lead to flooding of urban, low lying and poor drainage areas. An isolated flash flood cannot be ruled out. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity may result in an increased risk for heat-related illnesses. *Thunderstorms - Today through Wednesday* Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 9 PM for the entire region. The main threat with the storms will be damaging wind gusts, which may down trees and power lines. There is a marginal risk for additional severe thunderstorms Wednesday for southern and eastern parts of the region. The main threat will continue to be damaging winds. Thunderstorms will also be capable of producing heavy downpours through this evening and again on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
