The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity may result in an increased risk for heat-related illnesses. *Thunderstorms - Tuesday through Wednesday* There is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorm on Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening for areas north and west of the Capital Region. The main threat will be damaging winds, which may down trees and power lines. Thunderstorms will also be capable of producing heavy downpours Tuesday through Wednesday. Minor flooding of urban, low lying and poor drainage areas is possible. Isolated flash flooding cannot be ruled out as well. Please refer to the attached briefing for more details. A Heat Advisory may be needed for some areas on Tuesday. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity may result in an increased risk for heat-related illnesses. *Thunderstorms* Isolated thunderstorms are expected across the region today. Scattered thunderstorms will overspread much of the region Tuesday afternoon into the evening. Some thunderstorms will be capable of becoming strong-to-severe. Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, Dangerous heat conditions will continue through Sunday: - Excessive Heat Warning continues through tonight for the Capital Region, Mohawk Valley, mid-Hudson Valley, southern Taconics and Litchfield County. - Heat Advisory is in effect for the rest of the area tonight. - Excessive Heat Warning continues Sunday for eastern Ulster, Dutchess and Litchfield counties. - Heat Advisory is in effect during the day Sunday for much of the rest of the area, except the western Mohawk Valley and southern Adirondacks.
