Wind gusts will continue to be up to 50 mph, which will result in some downed trees and tree limbs, resulting in isolated to scattered power outages. A Winter Weather Advisory also remains in effect for southern Herkimer County New York until 1 PM. Slippery travel will continue through early this afternoon with additional accumulation of around an inch. *Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,* The Wind advisory continues for eastern NY (excluding the mid-Hudson Valley), and all of western New England until 3 pm Saturday. Downed large tree limbs and/or a few trees are possible, along with isolated to scattered power outages. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Herkimer county in NY. It is in effect until 1 PM Saturday for northern Herkimer County for an additional 2-5 inches of snow accumulation with blowing snow creating difficult travel conditions in some areas. The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 pm tonight to 1 pm Saturday for southern Herkimer County for 3-6" of snow accumulation, as well as blowing snow creating difficult travel conditions. There is a potential for accumulating snow and perhaps a wintry mix Tuesday into Tuesday night. Please see the attached briefing for additional details on the Wind and Winter Weather Advisories. The Wind Advisory is valid from 1 pm Friday to 3 pm Saturday. Downed large tree limbs and/or a few trees are possible, along with isolated power outages. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Herkimer county in NY. It is valid from 5 PM Friday to 1 PM Saturday. 3-6 inches of snow accumulation is expected with the potential for difficult travel conditions in some areas. The wind advisory may need to expanded later if confidence increases for wind advisory gusts for other parts of the region. *Tonight - Tomorrow:* Periods of above freezing temperatures, snow melt and rain will lead to rises on area rivers. Although river flows are not expected to reach flood levels on their own, river rises may be enough to cause some ice break up and movement which could lead to some localized ice jam flooding. The potential for isolated ice jam flooding continues into Friday. In addition, some lake effect snow may impact the western Adirondacks, and western Mohawk Valley Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. Winter Weather Advisories may be needed later in time.
