Good morning everyone, Widespread rain with embedded heavier showers continues this morning and through this evening. Total rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches is forecast. Details below: *What / Where / When * - Interior Flooding - With the possibility of urban and poor-drainage flooding, the FLOOD WATCH continues for western and central MA, all of CT where heaviest rainfall is forecast. - River Flooding - In addition to snow melt further upstream, heavy rainfall will exacerbate main stem flooding along the Connecticut River with some locations going back above minor flood levels. - It may also contribute to sharp rises for a few smaller streams throughout the area. - For more specific details, please see NWS river forecasts at: https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=box - Coastal Flooding - Only minimal tidal departures were noted during last evening's high tide along the south coast. Good afternoon, Widespread rain with embedded heavier showers, perhaps even some thunderstorms, are expected to develop late tonight and continue through Saturday evening. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches is forecast with the potential for locally higher values up around 2.5 inches. *What / Where / When ...* - Gusty SW winds: - A WIND ADVISORY remains in effect for eastern and southeastern MA as well as all of RI into early evening. - Southwest winds sustained around 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. - Already have received several reports across the advised area of downed limbs. The threat for downed limbs continue, possibly small trees as well. - Interior flooding: - With the possibility of urban and poor-drainage flooding, the FLOOD WATCH continues for western and central MA, all of CT where heaviest rainfall is forecast (please see the attached *storm total rainfall* image). - River Flooding: - In addition to snow melt further upstream, heavy rainfall will exacerbate main stem flooding along the Connecticut River with most locations remaining at or going back above moderate flood levels. - It may also contribute to sharp rises for a few smaller streams throughout the area. - For more specific details, please see NWS river forecasts at: https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=box - Coastal Flooding: - Strong southerly winds will result in a storm surge of up to 1 foot. Wind Advisory This Afternoon through Tonight

Good morning everyone, The wind advisory has been expanded to include all southern New England. The wind advisory begins between 1 and 4 pm from west to east and continues through 8 am Tuesday. Gusty southerly winds 20-35 mph will impact the coastal plain this morning, but the greater concern is for northwest wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph developing behind a cold front during mid/late afternoon and continuing through tonight. The strongest gusts will occur this evening through the overnight hours. Thank You. Wind Advisory Late Monday Into Monday Night For Portions Of Massachusetts

Good morning everyone We just wanted to let you know that a Wind Advisory has been issued beginning early Monday evening and continuing into the overnight hours for western, central, and portions of eastern Massachusetts. This is for northwest wind gusts of 35 to 50 mph that are expected to develop behind a strong cold front. It is possible that the Wind Advisory might need to be expanded with later forecasts. Attached is the image showing where the Wind Advisory is currently in effect. The second graphic shows the expected maximum wind gusts late Monday into Monday night. Head's up- possible flooding on Connecticut River early next week

Good afternoon folks, We wanted to send a head's up e-mail for those who have interests on the Connecticut River in MA and CT. Minor flooding is possible on the lower Connecticut River during early next week. Rainfall events during tonight, and Sunday night into Monday, are expected to bring a soaking rainfall to New England. One to 2+ inches of rainfall is expected thru Monday. A map from the Northeast River Forecast Center is attached, with the rainfall forecast for both events. *Warm temperatures over northern New England (VT/NH) will also result in substantial snowmelt.* Due to the combined rainfall and snowmelt, strong rises are expected on the lower Connecticut River. There is a risk early next week for minor flooding along the Connecticut River in MA and CT. Due to less snow pack in the headwaters of the Merrimack River, river flooding is not expected on the lower Merrimack River in MA at this time. Light Snow/Ice potential for Tonight in the High Terrain

Good morning, This is an update on the potential for some light snow/ice accretion tonight in the high terrain. *There are no major changes to the previous forecast.* *WHAT/WHERE: * - Light wintry mix (snow/sleet/freezing rain) potential tonight in the high terrain of the Worcester Hills and the east slopes of the Berkshires. Ice accretion of a trace to less than one tenth of an inch possible. *WHEN: * - Precipitation overspreads the region from west to east on this evening between 5 and 9 pm. Rain is expected for most of Southern New England, but some light snow/sleet/freezing rain will be possible in the high terrain of the Worcester Hills and east slopes of the Berkshires. *POTENTIAL IMPACTS: * - Most ice accretion will occur on trees, but a few slippery spots are possible at elevations over 1000 feet and particularly near 1500 feet. - Ice accretion amounts will not be high enough to result in any power outages. - Precipitation will change to rain overnight in all locations. Temperatures will rise well into the 50s and 60s by Sunday afternoon.
