Good morning, There is the threat of tropical downpours this evening which could contribute to localized flooding. - Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches in roughly a 3 to 6 hour window are possible. - Rainfall developing around 8 pm, the heaviest occurring around 10 pm to 2 am, concluding around 4 am. We've attached a document which highlights the upper-end and lower-end of rainfall possibilities along with our expected forecast. Update on Strong Winds This Afternoon and Evening

Good Morning Everyone, We have increased the forecast wind gusts for this afternoon and this evening near the coast. As a result, the following changes have been made: - *Wind Advisory* expanded to include coastal Plymouth County and Martha's Vineyard. - *Storm Warning* issued for Nantucket Sound and the outer coastal waters from Provincetown to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Confidence remains high that a wind shift to the northeast will occur between 1 PM and 5 PM, accompanied by a burst of strong winds and a temperature drop into the 50s over the coastal waters and from coastal Plymouth County to Cape Cod and the Islands. *Since this is the start of the holiday weekend, many recreational boaters may be caught off guard by the sudden increase in wind gusts and rapidly building seas.* Here are the details: *Coastal Plymouth County, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket:* - A Wind Advisory is in effect until 9 PM. - Wind gusts of up to 50 mph expected, especially between 3 and 7 PM. - Minor wind damage, such as a few downed branches, may occur. *Coastal Waters:* - Storm Warnings issued for Nantucket Sound and the outer coastal waters from Provincetown to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Gusts of 45 to 50 knots are expected, especially between 3 and 7 PM. Gusts will fall below Gale Force after 9 PM. - Gale Warnings remain posted for most of the Massachusetts and Rhode island coastal waters through early tonight. Wind gusts of up to 40 knots are expected. - A rapid wind shift to the northeast and burst of strong wind gusts will first occur around 1 PM off Cape Ann and will reach the waters adjacent to Cape Cod and the Islands between 3 PM and 5 PM. Good Morning Everyone, We have high confidence that a wind shift from the northwest to the northeast will occur between 1 PM and 5 PM and will be accompanied by a burst of strong winds and a temperature drop into the 50s over the coastal waters and on Cape Cod and Nantucket. Here are the details: *Cape Cod and Nantucket:* - A Wind Advisory is in effect from 1 PM to 9 PM. - Minor wind damage, such as a few downed branches, may occur. *Coastal Waters:* - Gale Warnings have been expanded to include most of the Massachusetts and Rhode island coastal waters through early tonight. - A rapid wind shift to the northeast and burst of 40 to 45 knot wind gusts will first occur around 1 PM off Cape Ann and will reach the waters adjacent to Cape Cod and the Islands between 3 PM and 6 PM. - This has the potential to catch mariners off guard, especially recreational boaters. The overall threat remains about the same as what was forecast yesterday. *WHAT/WHEN:* - A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible today* between 2 pm and 9 pm*. *WHERE:* - The threat is mainly to the northwest of the Boston to Providence corridor. The *highest risk* appears to be across *Western/Central MA and Northern CT*. *POTENTIAL IMPACTS:* - Localized damaging wind gusts and large hail - Low risk of a tornado - Torrential rainfall may result in localized street flooding *UNCERTAINTY:* - The coverage of severe weather appears isolated, but there is a low risk that a few localized areas experience a significant impact. [2019.05.13 PM] Light Snow Possible Across Higher Terrain

Good afternoon, Our wet weather pattern will continue tonight into Tuesday morning. Temperatures will be low enough to support some wet snow mixing in with rain across the highest terrain towards the Berkshires as early as between 8-10 PM this evening. Snow will become more likely between midnight and 6 AM Tuesday. Any lingering snow should transition to all rain by 9 AM. Light snow accumulations are possible as low as 1,000 feet of elevation, but are most likely from 1,500 feet or higher. We have attached the most likely and reasonable worst-case scenario snowfall accumulations. Good morning, Rain will move into Southern New England this afternoon and continue through Tuesday. The air above the ground will be cold enough to bring a mix of rain and wet snow. Accumulating snow is possible, but mainly at elevations above 1500 feet MSL. An inch or two is possible at these levels. - As displayed in the attached map, the areas most likely to be affected are in the East Slopes of the Berkshires and the northern Worcester Hills. - The most likely time of occurrence is 8 PM to 8 AM tonight and Tuesday morning.
