Good evening, What has changed: A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for most of Southern New England for Thursday and Friday. Only Cape Cod and the Islands are not covered at this time. A plowable snow, with amounts roughly 4 to 7 inches, will take place from late Thursday through Friday. A weather system will move up the coast Thursday, spreading snow across Southern New England during the afternoon. The most substantial snow will occur Thursday night and Friday morning. The weather system will pass near or just south of the 40N/70W "benchmark" and move off to the east Friday afternoon. Good morning, Attached is a one pager briefing for a potential snow event late Thursday into Friday. Winter weather advisories continue this morning for areas west of I-95. Freezing rain will result in hazardous travel. Ice accumulations will be a glaze to one tenth of an inch, except two to four tenths of an inch over higher elevations in the Berkshires and northern Worcester Hills. Temperatures in the interior will rise above freezing between 7 and 10 am. A period of heavy rain and a possible thunderstorm this morning across RI and southeast MA combined with snow melt may result in street flooding, especially in areas where storm drains are snow clogged. Good afternoon/evening, Here is the latest briefing for the ice accretion event for tonight into Tuesday morning. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for much of southern New England away from the southeast coast. The main impacts will be 1) slippery untreated roads and 2) the possibility of ice buildup causing a few tree limbs to fall and/or some power disruptions -- in the higher terrain areas of the east slopes of the Berkshires, Worcester County, and northwest Middlesex County. Another winter storm is expected Thursday into Friday. Precipitation is expected to begin as snow on Thursday for all southern New England before transitioning to ice and rain Thursday night into Friday. The Thursday evening commute could be adversely impacted. Precipitation is expected to begin as snow on Thursday for all southern New England before transitioning to ice and rain Thursday night into Friday. Good afternoon, Here is an updated one-pager briefing on the potential winter storm for Monday night into Tuesday. Main change...A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for much of interior MA, northern CT and northern RI for heavy mixed precipitation with up to half an inch of ice accretion possible. We have also attached an updated hazard map and snowfall map for Monday afternoon into Tuesday. Only minor snow accumulations are expected in northern MA with the main concern being the potential for significant ice accretion across much of interior Southern New England. A general drying trend is expected today into tonight with just some spotty light wintry precipitation this morning. More wintry precipitation is expected to develop during Monday with a mix of light snow and sleet and pockets of freezing rain which may cause some hazardous travel.
