Good morning everyone, We wanted to give you a heads up about a few periods of impactful weather upcoming. First, winds will be very gusty late this evening into Friday morning. A Wind Advisory has been issued for western and central Massachusetts where confidence is highest in gusts up to 50 mph. Secondly, this weekend will bring another messy winter system Saturday into Sunday. It will once again bring a progression from snow to sleet/freezing rain, and rain. Confidence in details is low at this point in time, but we've attached current probabilities of at least 4 inches of snow before the changeover. Good afternoon, A quick-moving system will bring minor snowfall and the potential for ice accumulation across interior southern New England late this evening into Thursday. It is worth noting that neighboring NWS Albany has issued a Wind Advisory for Berkshire County from this evening through mid-morning Thursday for downsloping easterly winds of 40 to 50 mph. Good Afternoon Everyone, Minor travel impacts from slippery roads are expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning across interior southern New England as light snow changes to a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain, and eventually to all rain Thursday morning. Please see the attached one-page briefing and images for more information. The Winter Weather Advisory that is being issued for northern Connecticut, most of interior Massachusetts, and northwest Rhode Island is where we have the highest confidence in minor travel impacts, especially for the Thursday morning commute. The Advisory may need to be extended farther east to include more of the Boston and Providence areas if our confidence increases for these locations, but any light icing would be shorter in duration than for inland areas.
