Good Afternoon, The Winter Weather Advisory for western MA has been canceled. Temperatures are expected to remain above freezing into this evening, and snow is not expected to begin to mix into the rain until much later tonight. A coating of snow is possible, with the higher elevations seeing up to an inch. Attached is a one-pager for possible snow impacts related to a winter system Friday into Saturday. We have also attached graphics for the probabilities of 2" and 4" of snow, along with 0.01" of ice accretion. Thank you! Good morning, all:. Winter Weather Advisory remains posted for this aftenroon and evening across western and central MA. This is for rain changing to snow with a period of sleet possible during the transition. A narrow axis of 2–4 inches of snow with localized 5-inch amounts, are possible, especially across the higher terrain of western/central MA. The bulk of the accumulating snow will fall along a relatively narrow axis, which may shift north or south. Some lower elevations may also see a few inches of snow too, but confidence is lower in this region given marginal temperatures. Good morning everyone... We have issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night across western and central MA. This is for rain changing to snow with a period of sleet possible during the transition too. A narrow axis of 2–4 inches of snow with localized 5-inch amounts are possible especially across the higher terrain of western/central MA. The bulk of the accumulating snow will fall along a relatively narrow axis, which may shift north or south. Some lower elevations may also see a few inches of snow too...But confidence is lower in this region given marginal temperatures. Therefore...Later shifts may need to extend or shift the axis of the Winter Weather Advisory depending on the model trends. Attached is a one-pager on this event followed by our snowfall forecast. Good afternoon, Following is an updated weather briefing regarding an accumulating snow and light icing event taking place late this afternoon into early Wednesday morning. *Changes Since Last Briefing: *Slight increase in snow amounts, which led to expansion of the Winter Weather Advisory into northern MA. Snow covered and slippery roads can be expected due to the combination of snow and a brief period of freezing drizzle. Overall minor impacts are expected given manageable snowfall rates, with precipitation ending by the pre-dawn hours Wednesday. Good morning, *What's Changed: Winter Weather Advisories issued for portions of northeast MA for snow accumulations of 2-4 inches. And central CT into southeastern MA for light icing from freezing drizzle. These are in effect between 6 PM and 6 AM. * A low-end winter weather event will impact southern New England late this afternoon through early Wednesday morning. Light snow develops late this afternoon, with the heaviest snow occurring this evening (7 PM–midnight). Snow may end as freezing drizzle overnight, with a rain transition along the south coast. Good afternoon everyone, A minor snow event will impact MA/RI and CT on Tuesday evening. Snow may end a brief period of freezing drizzle Tuesday night, possibly ending as rain along the south coast. Snowfall totals should range between a coating and two inches across CT/RI and southeast MA. Slightly higher totals of 1-3 inches are expected across northern MA, with isolated amounts of 4+ possible in northeast MA. However, confidence was not high enough at the moment to issue a winter weather advisory for 4+ inches of snow. The next email update will be issued late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
