Good afternoon everyone, Attached is a one page briefing regarding the potential for an impactful coastal storm during the Monday night through Wednesday time frame. Heavy rain and damaging wind gusts up to 50 mph are forecast with this storm. Power outages will be possible. Highest confidence in strong winds is across eastern MA and RI where a high wind watch will go into effect Tuesday morning. Widespread 3-6 inches of rain is forecast between Monday and Wednesday morning with locally higher amounts possible. A high wind watch will go into effect beginning Tuesday morning along with a storm watch for the coastal waters. Good afternoon everyone We just wanted to let you know that a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Berkshire County in Western Massachusetts as well as Litchfield County in Connecticut through 7 pm this evening. A line of showers and embedded thunderstorms will bring the potential for damaging wind gusts as it enters far western MA and far western CT after 5 or 6 PM. Across the rest of our region, odds favor the line weakening as it moves east supporting mainly 35-45 mph wind gusts along with brief heavy rain. That being said, an isolated severe thunderstorm still can not be ruled out further east. Lastly, isolated tree damage is still possible with sub-severe wind gusts given fully leafed trees. Good morning, Attached is an updated one-page briefing on the expected potential for a narrow band of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to move through Southern New England tonight. *Main Change:* An increase in the severe thunderstorm threat level to Slight Risk for portions of Berkshire County in Massachusetts, and Litchfield and southern Fairfield County in Connecticut. A Marginal Risk for severe weather was maintained across remaining portions of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. That said, expected impacts are very similar to that which was briefed Friday afternoon: isolated tree damage due to wind gusts in the 35-45 mph range given fully leafed trees. A low risk of a severe thunderstorm or two could exist, though better odds for such exist across eastern New York and western New England. Unless there are significant changes, this will be the last briefing regarding isolated wind damage potential tonight. Thank You! Good afternoon everyone This is a brief one-pager on the potential for scattered showers/isolated thunderstorms that may produce mainly brief 35-45 mph wind gusts Saturday evening. While we can not rule out the low risk for an isolated severe thunderstorm or two, the vast majority of the wind gusts will be sub-severe. NWS Boston EM Briefing Update on Heavy Rain/Flooding

Good morning everyone, The back edge of the steadier and heavier rain was moving through central Massachusetts and eastern Connecticut as of 8 AM and will move offshore by late morning (see the attached radar image). We only expect periods of lighter rain for the rest of the day, before another round of steadier rainfall tonight. At this time, there is no longer the threat of flooding, aside from the usual minor flooding of poor drainage areas or roadways. This will be the last briefing on this event unless conditions change. Good Afternoon Everyone, We wanted to provide an update on the possibility of heavy rainfall and minor flooding Monday into Tuesday. Here are the key points: - Total rainfall of 1 to 2 inches, with locally higher amounts, is possible across much of southern New England. The higher totals are most likely to occur across western Massachusetts through Monday night. - The potential for river flooding remains low, but some smaller streams could reach bankfull. - At the very least expect minor flooding of urban and poor drainage areas (the usual flood prone areas).
