Good Morning, Please find our latest briefing regarding today's accumulating snow event attached. The Winter Weather Advisory has been expanded to include Tolland county in Connecticut. We want to emphasize that the greatest uncertainty in this forecast lies in the eastern extent of 2"+ of accumulation while the highest forecast confidence remains across western MA and northern CT, where up to 6 inches of snow is possible. Unless there is a significant change to the forecast, this will be the final briefing. Good afternoon everyone, Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for Western Massachusetts and Western Connecticut Sunday afternoon & Sunday night. 2 to 5 inches of snow are anticipated for this region with the greatest risk for the higher amounts in the Berkshires. Snow is expected to develop Sunday afternoon and continue at times Sunday night. The snow is expected to end before the Monday morning commute, but untreated roads will remain snow covered and slippery across much of interior Massachusetts and Connecticut. The biggest uncertainty remains how far east the accumulating snow will reach. This will determine whether parts of Central Massachusetts and Rhode Island receive a few inches of snow or less than an inch. Good Morning, While our previous briefing indicated that we would provide an updated forecast this afternoon, we felt it was necessary to send an interim update as forecasted snow totals have increased to around 4" across portions of western MA. Please find our updated one-page briefing attached, as well as our most recent snow accumulation forecast. This system is still expected to impact the region beginning Sunday afternoon, and will wrap up before the Monday morning commute. The need for any headlines will be re-evaluated this afternoon, as none are currently in place. NWS Boston - Guide to Winter Weather Forecast/Information Products

Emergency Managers and Federal/State/Local Agency Decision Makers, With winter weather right around the corner, we wanted to make sure each of you were aware of various NWS produced winter weather focused products that are available to you to assist in your planning and decision making process. The attached guide provides a summary of what is available, whether it's a situation about making decisions about a winter storm that is 12 hours from beginning or being able to have an awareness for the risk of significant winter storms 14 days from now --- and everything in between. The full suite of NWS winter product services that are available to you come from the collective expertise and experience of the meteorologists here at the NWS Boston office, our neighboring sister offices in Albany, Brookhaven/NYC and our national center offices (Weather Prediction Center and the Climate Prediction Center). Given the number of different products that each focus on providing the best information for the different types of needs (eg: tactical decision making, strategic decision making or just situational awareness), the Winter Weather Program team here at the office felt that having a guide to summarize those products would be very beneficial -- and the attached guide is a result of their work. Please share with others in your organization as you see the need. Good afternoon, There's growing confidence that parts of southern New England, west of I-495, especially western Massachusetts and Connecticut, including Springfield and Hartford, will have minor snow accumulations Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning. Currently, there are no winter weather headlines, but Winter Weather Advisories may be needed for western Massachusetts and Connecticut come Sunday.
