In addition to the flash flood threat, there is also a chance for isolated severe thunderstorms that could produce damaging wind gusts or small haill. NWS Boston EM Briefing: Severe Weather Possible Late This Afternoon Into Tonight

Good morning, Following is an update from yesterday's weather briefing regarding our latest expectations for severe weather potential today and tonight. The remnants of Debby are still expected to pass to the west of New England tonight. There is still a *low risk* of a short-lived tornado in the western third of Massachusetts (west of Worcester) and in the western two-thirds of Connecticut. This is reflected in the area highlighted in green in the attached graphic. Severe weather potential could develop as soon as 3 PM, but is more likely between 6 PM today to 1 AM Saturday as Debby's remnants begin to recurve to our west. Unless there are significant changes which would warrant otherwise, this will be the final briefing on this weather situation. Thank You! Good Afternoon Everyone, The remnants of Debby are forecast to pass to the west of New England Friday afternoon and evening. As it does so, there is a *low risk* of a short-lived tornado, mainly in the western third of Massachusetts (west of Worcester) and in the western two-thirds of Connecticut. The attached graphic shows the area most at risk. The most likely time frame is during the afternoon and evening Friday, roughly between 3 PM and 11 PM. Good afternoon. Forecast confidence has increased that the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby will track well to the west of southern New England. Latest rainfall total estimates continue to drop, with probabilities of 2 inches of rain now less than 30%. The threat for flash flooding also continues to decrease. Good morning, Find attached an updated briefing regarding expectations from the remnants of what is currently Tropical Storm Debby, expected to make its closest pass to Southern New England Friday into Saturday. While Debby's exact track is still uncertain, the axis of heaviest rainfall has shifted westward. The latest probabilities of 3 or more inches of rain that was shared in the prior briefing have been reduced significantly. Because of these changes, we have now attached the probabilities of 2 or more inches of rainfall in this morning's briefing. Expect our next briefing to be sent to you by Wednesday late afternoon. Not a whole lot of change from yesterday with the risk being greatest north of I-90. As we mentioned yesterday storms could remain outside of our area. If the activity materializes then the main threats would be damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours, which could lead to urban flooding. Good morning everyone, Attached is a briefing regarding the risk for isolated severe storms across much of southern New England today. The risk for today is greatest between noon and 8 PM. The main threats are strong to damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours, which could lead to street flooding. There is also a risk for scattered severe thunderstorms on Monday late in the afternoon and into the evening. Risk appears greatest north of I-90.
