Good afternoon, With the holiday approaching, we wanted to send out a brief update for the forecast for Thanksgiving Day. We will have a storm system moving in during the early morning hours and lasting through Thursday night. This is not expected to be a very impactful storm, with snow confined to the highest elevations of the Berkshires and the Worcester Hills. Rainfall of half an inch to an inch is expected. Our next briefing will be Wednesday afternoon unless there are any significant changes. [2024.09.05 PM] High Surf & Dangerous Rip Currents Fri/Sat

Good afternoon everyone, We've hoisted a High Surf Advisory for Nantucket and Cape Cod, along with a Rip Current Statement for the remainder of the MA/RI coastline, effective Friday and Saturday. Low pressure developing several hundred miles east of the NC coast Thursday afternoon, will strengthen as it tracks northeast across Georges Bank Friday and then into Nova Scotia Saturday evening. This will result in high surf and dangerous rip currents, beginning Friday afternoon and then peaking Saturday. The worst conditions are expected to impact east facing ocean beaches of Cape Cod and Nantucket. Surf and rip currents will become less of an issue Sunday and especially early next week.
