Good afternoon everyone, Attached is an updated one-page briefing and related images for the potential high winds Thursday night into Friday. We are still working on finalizing the forecast but the attachments convey our latest thinking. If any further changes are made, we will send an update later this afternoon. *What Has Changed:* - High Wind Warning is being considered for south coastal Rhode Island and Massachusetts, including Cape Cod and the Islands, where we are more confident in seeing gusts up to 65 MPH. - High Wind Watch may be expanded into northeast Connecticut and central/northeast Massachusetts due to the potential for damaging winds. There is less certainty for these areas. - Storm Warnings are being considered for the Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters. Good Afternoon, Attached is a briefing regarding potential high winds across southern New England late Thursday night into Friday morning. At this time, there is increasing confidence that widespread southerly/southwesterly gusts of 40-50 mph are will occur across interior southern New England, with gusts between 50-60 mph likely south and east of the I-95 corridor. A High Wind Watch is in effect for SE MA and RI from late Thursday night into Friday morning. Unseasonably warm temperatures and about one inch of rain will accompany this system. Nuisance poor drainage and urban flooding is possible in flood-prone areas, especially across southeast MA and RI due to rapid snowmelt. Since our last update temperatures have warmed across southern CT, NE CT and southern Worcester county. So, the Winter Weather Advisory has been taken down as any icing should be isolated to the higher terrain in these areas. The rest of the forecast remains on track. [2022.02.06 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing - Light Wintry Mix of Snow and Ice for Interior MA/CT Late Monday to Early Tuesday Morning

Good afternoon, Please find attached an initial one-page briefing packet and supporting graphics for a light snow to wintry mix event expected for mainly interior Massachusetts and northern Connecticut late Monday into the early Tuesday period. Up to a couple inches of new snow and a light glaze of icing is currently expected. Greatest impact for central and western Massachusetts into northern Connecticut is to travel, especially around the Monday PM commute into the evening/overnight. While there is high confidence on a light-accumulation event, temperatures between 30-34F carries some uncertainty on road conditions (e.g. mainly wet vs mainly icy). For eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, we expect this to be a mainly rain event with nil impact, with high confidence. Expect our next briefing to be sent by *6 AM Monday*. Thank You!
