A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible this morning, but no severe weather is expected with this initial round of precipitation. A second round of storms ahead of a cold front is possible this evening depending how much instability remains across the region. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible with the main threat being localized damaging wind gusts. The highest chance will be in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Good morning, Please find attached our latest briefing for the ongoing oppressive heat and the risk for scattered afternoon thunderstorms for today. *What has changed:* Heat Advisories for most (excluding the Berkshires, western and southern Connecticut and coastal sections of Massachusetts and Rhode Island). In effect from noon to 8 PM Wednesday. Heat indices are expected to rise into the mid to upper 90s in the Heat Advisory area. In addition, scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and move from north to south. Heavy rain capable of localized street flooding is the main risk, but an isolated severe wind gust is possible. Cooler and much less humid weather will return on Thursday. Unless significant changes warrant otherwise, this will be the final briefing on the oppressive heat and humidity. Thank You! Flash Flood Watch Through 10 PM: Graphic and One-Pager Included

Good afternoon everyone Attached is the follow-up graphic and one-pager for the Flash Flood Watch across western/central Massachusetts and portions of northern Connecticut. The main concern is localized flash flooding with slow moving thunderstorms. Most thunderstorms should be sub-severe with wind gusts of 40-50 mph, but an isolated severe thunderstorm with a gust up to 60 mph is possible. The main concern is for slow moving thunderstorms that may result in localized 2 to 4 inch rainfall amounts in just an hour. This will result in the potential for localized Flash Flooding. Good morning, Please find attached our latest briefing for the ongoing oppressive heat. *What has changed:* No changes to the Heat Advisory areas contained in the briefing sent yesterday afternoon. In addition to the heat and humidity, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon, as soon as noon but particularly between 2 and 8 PM. Storms will be slow-moving and primarily pose a very localized flood threat. While widespread severe weather is not expected, a couple of storms may produce strong wind gusts. Thank You! Good afternoon everyone Here is our latest briefing for the ongoing oppressive heat. *What has changed* - Heat Advisories Extended Into Tuesday Evening and also expanded to include all areas outside the highest terrain and the south coast of Southern New England. Heat advisories have been extended into Tuesday evening and also expanded to include all areas of southern New England; except for the highest terrain and areas near the south coast. The other concern will be for scattered thunderstorms Tuesday between noon and 8 PM. While the activity will be hit or miss, potentially slow moving thunderstorms will result in a very localized flood threat.
